Anti-HHV-8 LNA-1, clone LN53, is an exciting monoclonal antibody, which specifically recognises the latent nuclear antigen-1 of HHV-8. Itwas originally developed and publishedupon by Professor Chris Boshoff and Professor Paul Kellam at University College Hospital London (UCLH)in order to study the potential etiological link between HHV-8 infection and Kaposi’s sarcoma, multicentric Castleman’s disease and primary effusion lymphoma. Both Boshoff and Kellam are highly regarded in the fields of viral oncology and viral genomics respectively.

Subsequent to its development, LN53 has been rigorously testedin an array of applications including Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry (IHC),Immunoprecipitation (IP),ELISA and FACSand has been used to detect the presence of HHV-8 in a variety of tumour samples. Since this antibody clone has been produced, it has been cited 5 times, all with use in IHC.
