Ximbio is a website to exchange knowledge and trade reagents such as mouse models, antibodies, cell lines and small molecules. It is also a marketplace to maximise commercial opportunities for these tools. Our mission is to unify the life science community to make research tools widely available and accelerate research.

Job Purpose:

Business development involving the management and development of more than 30 existing key company accounts from the life science research tool industry and the creation of new business through sales and licence agreements for reagents in the Ximbio portfolio.

Principal Activities:

  • The key responsibilities of this role are:
  • To meet the assigned annual revenue target through the progression of sales opportunities and licence agreements with historical and new business accounts
  • Key account management of more than 30 company accounts
  • The processing of licensing enquiries, ensuring leads are followed up in a timely fashion
  • Ensuring that current customers report contracted royalties on time. Assisting finance teams where necessary to complete this activity
  • Monitoring expiring licences on a regular basis. Pro-actively engaging with Key accounts to manage renewals and terminations
  • Addressing enquiries relating to the technical performance of Ximbio’s research tools for assigned accounts
  • The preparation of business reports, budgets and meeting agendas
  • Maintenance and updating of internal CRM systems
  • Generation of a quarterly product mailer to all of Ximbio’s key accounts
  • Contract management: identify, chase and resolve defaulting parties, carried out in conjunction with financial support

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Significant experience in commercial life science reagents ideally in a web based company

OR

  • Significant experience in commercial life science reagents in a technology transfer role
  • Practical and commercial experience of the application of hybridoma cell lines, transgenic mice, plasmids, cell lines and small molecules as tool compounds in academic and commercial environments.
  • Experience in sales, account management or new business development is required
  • Contract negotiation; out-licensing of commercial third party technologies
  • Experience of networking and attendance at scientific conferences
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
