Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets | Sialyltetraosylceramiden antigen on colorectal tumor cell surface |

Relevance |
Blood group related antigens are a group of carbohydrate determinants present on both glycoproteins and glycolipids. They are usually mucin-type, and are detected on erythrocytes, certain epithelial cells, and in secretions of certain individuals. Lewis- y/b is a cell surface carbohydrate blood group antigen expressed at very low levels in normal tissue, but often found to be over-expressed on breast, lung, colon and ovarian cancer cells. Lewis-y antigen, a difucosylatedtetrasaccharide, is found on type 2 blood group oligosaccharides. The antibody, NCRC37, is a pan-reactive, anti-colorectal tumour antibody and binds strongly to coloretal tumour cells and to post mortem cryopreserved tissues of brain, spleen, heat, lung, kidney, testes, oesophagus or stomach. Lewis y antigen has been evaluated as a clinical marker for the diagnosis and prognosis of cholangiocarcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma and breast cancer. |
Host | Mouse |
Immunogen | Tissue cultured colorectal tumor cell lines (C170, C146, Colo205, and JW) |
Positive Control | C14 (NCRC10) |
Subclass | IgG1 |
Myeloma Used | NS0 |

Notes |
NCRC37 is also referred to as SC104. The antibody does not bind to blood lympocytes, granulocytes, bone marrow progenitor cells, GM1, GD1a, GT1b, or sialyl LewisX antigens. This antibody directly induces tumor cell death without the need for immune effector cells or complement. NCRC37 is used at 1-5ug/ml for immunocytochemical analysis. |
