Catalogue Number | 153455 |
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets | HPV transfected human keratinocytes |
Parental Line | Human epidermal keratinocytes - strain U |
Synonyms | HPV, Human papillomavirus |
Host | Human |
Disease Keywords | HPV, carincogenesis, cervical, skin |
Model | Immortalised Line |
Relevance | The paired normal and immortalised cell lines provide a good model system for studying the interaction of the HPV genome with human cells and offer the potential for further studies on the effects of carcinogenesis and oncogenes in malignant conversion of HPV16-infected keratinocytes vp HPV16-immortalised keratinocyte cell line |
Production Details | Primary human keratinocytes from newborn foreskin samples were used as the source of cells. These cells were then grown in culture and at passage 2 transfected with the pSV2neo/16 plasmid which contains the entire HPV16 genome. |
Conditional | No |
Research Area | Cancer, Cell Cycle, DNA Damage and Repair, Drug Discovery & Development, Immunology |
Recommended Growing Conditions | Composed of a 1+3 mixture of Ham’s F12 and DMEM, supplemented with 1.8x10-4M adenine, 10 % FCS, 5 ug/ml insulin, 0.5 ug/ml hydrocortisone, 10 ng/ml EGF and 10-10M cholera toxin. Cultures should be maintained at 37oC, and medium changed every 2-3 days. |
