Monoclonal antibody which can inhibit T cell response to Ae:E alpha determinants. Background and Research Application This antibody is directed at a conformational or combinatorial determinant formed by certain Ae:E alpha complexes. This marker is found upon a subset of B cells as well as on non-T and non-B spleen cells. Antibody Y-17 can inhibit the response of T cells to Ae:E alpha determinants in mixed lymphocyte cultures. Furthermore, Y-17 inhibits the antigen-induced T cell proliferative response to GLPhe and pigeon cytochrome c; responses which are under dual-Ir-gene control and correlate with the expression of certain A~:E~ complexes on antigen-presenting cell surfaces. |
Immunogen UniProt ID | P04223 |
Subclass | IgG2b |
Notes |
Production Details Purified using multi-step affinity chromatography with protein A. Storage Conditions Store at -20 degrees frozen. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Points of Interest Besides Ae and E alpha chains, Y-17 precipitates a third chain that is indistinguishable from the A alpha chain in two-dimensional gels. Concentration 1mg/ml as standard |
